Projects & Commissions

Private Commission - Painting of a car design rendering

December 2022

A commission for a family friend that they gifted to their son; this piece was another that exercised my ability to adapt as an artist. I had little experience of depicting cars so making sure the drawing was right key here however, it was also important that my style came through. So with vibrant use of colour, confident mark-making and many initial studies I produced a painting that managed to convey both.

Falling into Place - Degree Show 2022
May - June 2022
For this project I produced four large paintings for the exhibition taking from March to May to fully complete. Following this, I exercised my collaboration skills for the set up of the exhibition painting floors and walls, taking part in group meetings, being involved with the curation of the space, and hanging the works for display.

Unit X - Bernardo Bellotto Exhibition, Manchester Art Gallery
March - April 2021
The final unit of my second year at university, Manchester Art Gallery asked students in groups to devise exhibition proposals for works by Bernardo Bellotto they intended to display in November, 2021. From this I developed a range of skills outside of my painting practice including; budgeting, proposal writing, improved knowledge of Photoshop and collaborating with people from other creative disciplines.

Too Late (For you) - Single cover for musician Matt Hua
June - September 2020
A collaboration with musician and producer Matt Hua, I produced a cover for his single Too Late(For you). This was in my more traditional painting style and included an abstract representation of a red sky in the summer time.

Private Commission - Wellpark rescue painting
June 2020
A commission from a family friend in which I produced a large scale painting in oil, that was a recreation of a painting of the Wellpark rescue by A. Cumming of Lenzie. The client asked that I produced the work in my own artistic style rather than just copying the work which presented the challenge of recreating an artists work while also implementing my own style and techniques.

Private Commission - Josephine Butler, Durham University
July - August 2020
I was commissioned to paint an aerial view of Josephine Butler College at Durham University to be given as a gift to a recent graduate of the college. In terms of subject this was not something I had ever done before, but despite this I managed to inject my own aesthetic into the painting while even experimenting with a brighter and more vivid colour palette.

Untold Emotions - EP cover for musician Matt Hua
May - August 2019
The production of EP cover, Untold Emotions for musician Matt Hua. This collaboration meant I was producing artwork to a brief and for a specific purpose, in which I exercised the mergence of my digital skills with painting. This project became the foundations of my ability to collaborate with creatives in other disciplines and showed me how my digital skills can be implemented into my work.
